In addition to offering comprehensive ancestral research packages, we can also undertake site visits to any location in Scotland significant to your own family history, to capture fascinating high quality photographic images for you. This could be of the home where your ancestors lived, the school they attended, the church in which they were married or their gravestone marking where they are buried.
You don't have to commission one of our ancestral research packages to use this service - our photography package is available to everyone. We appreciate that many people have already discovered their own unique ancestral history, but are unfortunately unable to visit the many places in Scotland where their families lived generation before them.
Customers who commission us to undertake a visit receive ten professional quality glossy photograph prints of their chosen location and the surrounding area, as well as a typed report detailing the visit. All of our reports contain a detailed map of the location visited. Inscriptions of gravestones or memorials visited are transcribed within the report as well.
Our photographs and reports are provided not only in hard copy but also in digital format (JPEG and PDF) on an attractively presented CD. This gives you the flexibility to copy, print, store and share your special images with your family and friends as you wish.
Fees for our personalised photography service are reasonable and provided upon request due to the nature of the work. Prices quoted reflect the accessibility of the visit location and the distance from our central base in Lanarkshire. Payment can be made by cheque, by bank transfer or by credit/debit card via PayPal (Thistle Ancestry is a fully verified PayPal business account holder).
